Carlos Iniesta is a Medical Doctor specialized in Preventive Medicine and Public Health, Master in Public Health and PhD Student on Epidemology and Public Health on HIV prevention. Since 2017 he is part of the Research Group of the Spanish Network of Excellence on HIV research (RIS), at theNational Center of Epidemiology (Instituto de Salud Carlos III).

He has worked in a number of research projects with a Public Health and social determinants perspective, thanks to his collaboration on multidisciplinary groups: he has coordinated the Spanish Working Group for PrEP implementation, is member of the Madrid Fast Track Cities Strategy Committee and is a Board Member of the Spanish Interdisciplinary HIV Society (SEISIDA). He currently collaborates with the National AIDS Program in order to support PrEP implementation and monitoring.
